"THE HUBBARD HOUSE" 406 West Nutmeg St. San Diego - We did the brick portion to the addition on this historical Georgian-style brick home on Banker's Hill, known as the Hubbard House. It was originally built in 1903 by Robert M. Hubbard who was a brick manufacturer in San Diego, from 1889 through the 1920's. The present day owner built an addition to this home and of course, it had to be done in brick. To read an article on Robert M. Hubbard and his brickyards in San Diego, go HERE.

"THE HUBBARD HOUSE" 406 West Nutmeg St. San Diego - The San Diego Historical Society required that the new addition would be distinguishable from the original section of the home without distracting from it. The home owner decided upon a Higgins brick from RCP Block and Brick. The Higgins brick used was tumbled to give it an aged look and the color match was pretty close. "THE HUBBARD HOUSE" 406 West Nutmeg St. San Diego - Tidwell Masonry completed the areas that are highlighted in these images. The home owner had a stipulation prior to starting this project, and that was, "It had to be done in three weeks". This project consisted of about 11,000 brick and RCP Block and Brick stated that this was their largest brick order for 2009.
4030 N. HEMPSTEAD CRL. KENSINGTON - Our customer owns a Spanish Revival home in Kensington and wanted a wall built that would have the appearance of an older style wall. We helped with the design that is not only suggestive of an older style but in craftmanship also.
4030 N. HEMPSTEAD CRL. KENSINGTON - There was an exsisting brick wall on the property that was falling down. The wall was torn down, bricks cleaned and the new wall was built with the old bricks. This helped in giving the wall an old appearance.
