SAN DIEGO MASONRY CONTRACTORS | KEN TIDWELL MASONRY
THE CROSS ON MT. HELIX LA MESA - The Mt. Helix Park Foundation asked us if we would be willing to donate our time and help them with the new gates they are installing at the park. Another Masonry Contractor volunteered to do the block and TIDWELL MASONRY volunteered to help them finish the rock. Having lived in La Mesa most of my life, we feel the top of Mt. Helix is a special place in our community and needs to be preserved so other people will be able to enjoy it in the future.

THE CROSS ON MT. HELIX LA MESA - The MOUNT HELIX PARK FOUNDATION gave us a basic shape to go by while building the rock section of the gate entrance. They let us come up with our own ideas with the design.
THE CROSS ON MT. HELIX LA MESA - Since the MOUNT HELIX PARK is a unique place in SAN DIEGO, the gates needed do be something special. After some thought being put into it, we wanted to do something a little different than anything else in the area. The rock wall centered in this image was done by the volunteers at the MOUNT HELIX PARK FOUNDATION.
THE CROSS ON MT. HELIX LA MESA - We thought that some of the rocks should "pop out" from the rest of the rocks. This isn't a new idea, but the size of the rocks are what sets it apart from anything else.
THE CROSS ON MT. HELIX LA MESA - The top of MOUNT HELIX offers a view that no other place in SAN DIEGO offers. The panoramic view is amazing! If you have not been up there, you are missing out on something special!
THE CROSS ON MT. HELIX LA MESA - The park itself is private now, but the MOUNT HELIX PARK FOUNDATION offers this place for events such as weddings, parties, etc. Their website is HERE.
THE CROSS ON MOUNT HELIX LA MESA - Tyler Ball needed to do a community project to earn the rank of EAGLE SCOUT. He contacted us to see if we would help him build a much needed drinking fountain at the MOUNT HELIX PARK. Tyler did most of the work with a little guidance from us. Tyler earned his rank of EAGLE SCOUT which helped him be accepted to CAL POLY.
